The guest bathroom doors have arrived!!!

The long awaited bathroom doors for the W/D enclosure were finally installed 3 weeks ago, and I'm just now getting a chance to write about it on this blog.  So glad we didn't insist on the full-mirrored doors because these doors look very elegant.  It's still hard to believe how much the guest and master bathrooms have changed since we started this renovation project.  We're so pleased with our accomplishments that we can't seem to stop remodeling the entire house!

Using a Parisian designed clock as an inspiration for this bathroom, it has somehow come to look more Grecian, rather than Parisian.

Here are some of the remodeling projects we have started in the meantime.  The hallway use to have chair railing all throughout and this hunter green paisley wallpaper.  Behind that wallpaper was the original color of the living room and hallway.

I decided to paint accent walls in the living room space to highlight the other colors in the room.

I hope to finish painting before the holidays, so wish me luck!  Until next time...

The final chapter on our bathroom renovations...

Didn't think we'd ever finish these bathrooms, with all the problems we encountered along the way.  It was truly a learning experience.  It wasn't fun dealing with the walls and popcorn ceilings, but I truly enjoyed deciding on the colors to use for painting the walls and decorating.
I was really pleased with how some of my angel collections were revived in the guest bathroom, achieving the Parisienne-look I was going for.  It's unfortunate that we're still dealing with the bifold mirror doors that we needed to enclose the washer and dryer area.  Twice, the orders arrived flawed (mirrors stained and cracked) and requiring bottom tracking, which meant drilling through our newly tiled floor.  We finally gave up on the idea of bifold mirror doors, going for a more traditional one that will fit our specifications.

Here's a pic of the bifold doors we're ordering this time around.

In the master bath, I decided to extend the tropical theme we had in our bedroom.  I recently repainted our bedroom to match a new set of bedding and just used a lighter shade of that color for the bathroom.

Accessorizing was simple since I had most of it already.  I replaced the black iron mirror  behind the toilet with metal palm leaves and used the shower curtain that we had in the guest bath previously.

Here's the master bath tub after The Bathtub Man did his magic!

I will post pics of our bifold doors when they get installed.  In the meantime, thanks for reading about our bathroom renovation adventure.  I hope you enjoyed the transitions as much as I did.

Part two of our bathroom renovation project...

On my previous blog, I mentioned that Lowe's was installing our new bi-fold mirror doors to close in the W/D area in our guest bathroom.  When the installer showed up, he inspected the doors and decided that he couldn't do the job.  The doors needed top and bottom tracking which meant drilling on the new tiles!
We reported the problem to Lowe's and they said they'd be more than happy to find us another installer.  Instead of going that route again, I decided to get on Angie's list and try my luck in finding another installer. Finding a top-rated installer was easy but when they found out about our dilemma, they advised us to call the people who installed our tiles to do the job.  I called the tilers and asked them to please consider installing the doors for us.  We heard back from the tilers and they agreed to do the job, even if it was something they've never done before.
We were gone on vacation all this time so we told them we would get back with them to set a day/time.  When we returned home, we decided it was best to return the doors at Lowe's and try to find another one without the bottom tracking. After getting a full refund from Lowe's, we headed to Home Depot to try our luck in finding the right doors.  Lo and behold, they had the kind we needed and for a much cheaper price!
It's been a week since then and we are still currently waiting for the doors to arrive.  We decided to get this done right and booked an installer from Home Depot to do the job.

Meanwhile, we contacted The Bathtubman to refinish the tub and tiles in the guest bathroom.

After Refinishing
It only took 24 hours for the finish to set, but we waited another day before proceeding with hanging the paintable wallpaper.

It took a couple of days to finish the job of wallpapering and caulking the seams, but the results were phenomenal.  We can't recall these walls ever looking this good!

I decided on these two color palettes to add some Zen to the bathroom.

After painting the walls the texture on the wallpaper became more prominent.

I searched 5 stores trying to find the right shower curtain and finally found one at TJMaxx!

I found a lace curtain panel to use for the valance and added accent cording to the corners.

I already had these wall decors before we renovated this bathroom.  It's wonderful seeing how all of them blended right in with the new colors in this bathroom.

This clock was my inspiration for the colors in this space.
My shabby chic angels added a nice touch to the vanity.

I can't wait for the bi-fold mirror doors to be installed in this guest bathroom to complete this bathroom project.  In the meantime, I'll sit back and enjoy that all my work is done in this space.
